Some of my short fiction involved super heroes, though in one story the main character was the villain. Comics were such a big part of my childhood, something I wanted to carry forward into my writing so I decided to edit an anthology, The Lavender Menace: Tales of Queer Villainy! Yes, that exclamation mark is purposeful, a nod the campy Batman TV from the 60’s. I queried gay writers in the comic book industry, reached out to gay speculative fiction authors I had been anthologized with or whose work I knew, and we were up and running. Northwest Press landed the fantastic Joe Philips for the wraparound cover art.
